About the Role
Join the Financial Times, a leading global business news organization, as a Senior Full Stack Engineer in our Product & Technology department. This role is based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and offers a hybrid work model. You will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for developing and maintaining cutting-edge web products and services.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with senior partners and product owners to shape solutions from inception to deployment.
- Provide technical leadership to an engineering team.
- Help with technical decision-making to support the technology strategy.
- Aid in the personal development of junior team members.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the business domains within FT Specialist.
- Ensure that the platforms you build are aligned with the department's strategy.
Technical Skills
- Extensive experience with JavaScript, React, Node.js, and GraphQL.
- Proficiency in using AWS, Heroku, and other cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of databases and search technologies like MariaDB, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, or MySQL.
- Experience with message queues like Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, etc.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and its trade-offs.
- Expertise in application performance tuning and optimization.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines like CircleCI or Jenkins.
- Experience in designing for fault tolerance and high availability.
- Proficiency in writing automated unit and end-to-end tests.
