Senior Security Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures for clients. You play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating security risks and responding swiftly to security incidents. You will work closely with IT professionals, management, and external partners to ensure that security measures are robust and up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement security measures for IT infrastructure for clients.
• Conduct security audits and assessments tailored to the specific needs of the client.
• Develop and maintain security policies and procedures that meet industry standards and client requirements.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and breaches at client sites.
• Collaborate with client IT and management teams to ensure security compliance.
• Stay updated on the latest security trends and technologies and apply them within various client environments.
• Perform risk analyses and vulnerability tests in different environments.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for various clients.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and security standards within client projects.
• Coordinate with external partners and vendors on security issues.
• Oversee the installation and configuration of security systems for clients, such as encryption and authentication solutions.
• Conduct penetration tests and ethical hacking exercises in various client environments.

Desired Skills

• A completed HBO or WO education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Thorough understanding of security protocols, systems, and best practices.
• Experience with security tools and software.
• Proven track record in managing security incidents and breaches.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in diverse client environments and function well in a team.
• Knowledge of regulations and industry standards.
• Ability to conduct security audits and assessments for a wide range of clients.
• Experience with penetration testing and ethical hacking.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus.
• Demonstrable experience in a technical security role, preferably with secondment experience in one or more of the following sectors: cyber operations infrastructure, cyber threat intelligence platform, cyber monitoring, system design and verification, and the AGILE or SAFe framework.
• Experience with government is a plus.
