Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Financial Crimes Technology team at Block, you will be at the forefront of combating financial crimes through technology. This role involves building high-scale analysis and visualization systems to detect and prevent criminal activities across billions of dollars worth of transactions in personal, merchant, and Bitcoin exchanges globally.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Cash App and Square feature teams to support product launches by developing tools to identify misuse by bad actors.
- Design and implement data exploration and criminal case management tools for the Compliance organization.
- Write and deploy code across Block's evolving architecture, focusing on elegant solutions and usability.
- Develop a platform of services and data pipelines architected for scale, anticipating future needs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industry experience in full stack software development.
- Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience with data engineering, metric development, and working on distributed systems where data consistency at scale is crucial.
Additional Information
Block offers competitive salaries based on geographic zones. The salary range for this position, depending on the location, is from USD $139,000 to USD $245,400 annually.
