About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Growth team at Descript, you will be pivotal in building the next generation platform for creating audio and video content. This role involves owning the development and shipping of new features across both the frontend and backend, collaborating with product and design teams to craft exceptional user experiences, and writing high-quality, testable code that is functional, maintainable, and performant.
What You'll Do
- Own building and shipping new features across all levels of the stack (frontend and backend).
- Collaborate with product and design teams on crafting great user experiences.
- Write high-quality testable code that's functional, long term maintainable and performant.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages and frontend frameworks, especially Typescript/Javascript/React.
- Strong CS fundamentals and experience with web technologies (HTML/JS/CSS) and REST APIs.
- Self-aware of strengths and seeking to constantly learn and improve.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience building creative tools.
- Experience building and optimizing single-page web applications.
