Role Overview

The Robotics Systems Engineer is a crucial member of the Amazon Robotics deployment team, overseeing the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment within new and existing fulfillment centers. This field engineering-based role requires proven technical skills related to the deployment of robotic equipment, including work with mechanical, electrical, networking, and software systems during a deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of robotics systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with robotics systems during deployments.
  • Develop process documentation and modify existing processes in partnership with project and program managers to drive business performance and sustainability.
  • Collaborate extensively with third-party installers, contracted engineers, construction, hardware, software, IT, and many other partner teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to avoid recurrences of issues.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering or closely related STEM field.
  • Experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems.
  • Understanding of data collection, reporting processes, and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and/or CAD models to resolve on-site clash issues using 3D clash detection reports.
  • Proficiency in standard office software tools and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in a field engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
  • Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked industrial equipment.
  • Practical understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP).
  • Knowledge of robot specific experience (Fanuc, ABB), Allen Bradley PLC experience, C++, Python, Java.

Travel Requirements

This position requires 75% travel, including potential international assignments. Valid US driver's license required.
