About The Role
Netflix is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance our Live Infrastructure Testing capabilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability and reliability of our live streaming services, which reach over 260 million viewers globally. The successful candidate will be instrumental in evolving our testing tools and practices to support the scaling of our Live streaming offerings.
Responsibilities
- Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with various engineering and product teams to deliver complex new products.
- Hands-on Development: Develop and enhance testing platforms, test suites, and practices based on detailed service architecture and product requirements.
- Data Reporting: Provide insights and reports on testing coverage and stability to support the Live SRE team.
- Testing Strategy Ownership: Manage the testing strategy across critical components of Live systems including Transmission, Encoding, Content Delivery, Device Players, Playback Systems, Discovery Systems, Messaging, and Title Management.
- Tool Development: Own or influence the creation of tools for failure injection, load generation, and stress testing.
- Test Automation: Drive the adoption of test automation and stress testing practices.
- System Improvements: Identify and implement enhancements in Live systems to ensure testability and resiliency.
Skills Required
- Experience with Live Streaming infrastructure and product development.
- Proven track record in developing testing tools and validation suites for complex systems.
- Operational experience in Live Streaming environments.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems, data analytics, and visualization tools like SQL, Hive/Spark, and Tableau.
Nice-to-have
- Full-stack development skills.
- Experience in log analytics and processing.
- History of collaboration with Product Management.
