Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Infrastructure team at Whatnot, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling our best-in-class live streaming and marketplace services. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of production systems. You will collaborate with the engineering team to deploy services across various environments and manage traffic spikes effectively.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the availability, performance, security, and scalability of production systems.
- Work with the engineering team to deploy services across different environments.
- Scale for capacity and traffic spikes of 20x normal load during high-volume events.
- Provide recommendations for architecture and process improvements.
- Maintain an efficient CI/CD pipeline to help developers ship software faster and safer.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience, building scalable systems for millions of users.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a public cloud environment (AWS, GCP) using Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Terraform.
- Expert knowledge of various CI/CD workflows.
- Exceptional coding skills.
