Job Description

Position: Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead

Reports To: Director, Software Engineering

Supervises: Yes

As a Tech Lead at Wondr Health, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, architecting, and implementing complex software solutions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products on time. You will provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to your team, demonstrating best practices in software design, development, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship. Be the on-call production support liaison.
• Architecture and Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, maintainable, and robust software architectures. Drive technical decisions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Development: Engage in hands-on development, including coding, code reviews, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. Take ownership of critical components and deliver high-quality code.
• Project Management: Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and timelines. Plan and prioritize tasks effectively to meet project milestones and deadlines.
• Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team. Identify areas for optimization, automation, and efficiency gains. Implement best practices and tools to enhance development processes.
• Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Encourage knowledge sharing, open communication, and constructive feedback. Build strong relationships with team members to drive collective success.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven history of delivering high-quality software products. 7+ years of experience in a leadership or mentorship role, preferably as a Tech Lead or Senior Engineer.

Skills

• Proficiency in PHP, AWS (Lambdas, S3, etc.), Typescript, Laravel, JavaScript, React, React Native, and MySQL.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and debugging using tools such as Datadog and BugSnag.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, architectural patterns, and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
