Staff Software Engineer

Position Summary

As a Staff Software Engineer at Walmart, you will be a key player in designing and developing highly scalable services and solving complex software systems problems using state-of-the-art technology. You will gain exposure to various emerging technologies used in Marketing and E-commerce platforms and provide technical direction, architecture leadership, and expertise to the team.

• Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects.
• Translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Design robust and scalable architectures.
• Write and develop code and conduct unit testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Troubleshoot open issues and bug-fixes.
• Ensure on-time delivery.

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years of experience in designing and building scalable and reliable front-end and back-end services and applications.
• Strong experience interfacing with Web Services platforms.
• Proficient in RESTful Services, RDBMS, NoSQL.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, CSS3, JSON, ReactJS/Redux, NodeJS, GraphQL.
• Strong expertise in the development of scalable cloud-native microservices, designing and building APIs.
• Proficient with event-driven architecture.
• Strong expertise with Cloud Technologies like Azure and GCP.
• Strong expertise in Java, Scala, Object-Oriented & Functional Programming, Design Patterns.
• Extensive knowledge of open-source libraries, design patterns, and micro-service architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and unit testing.
• Experience in production system operations (logging, telemetry, alerting, etc.).
