Staff Software Engineer

Position Summary

As a Staff Software Engineer at Walmart, you will be a key player in designing and developing highly scalable services and solving complex software systems problems using state-of-the-art technology. You will gain exposure to various emerging technologies used in Marketing and E-commerce platforms and provide technical direction, architecture leadership, and expertise to the team.

What You'll Do

Design and develop highly scalable services.
Solve complex software systems problems.
Provide technical direction and architecture leadership.
Lead by example as an exceptional and experienced developer.
Drive projects of high visibility across the organization.
Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects.
Translate requirements into technical solutions.
Design robust and scalable architectures.
Write and develop code and conduct unit testing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Troubleshoot open issues and bug-fixes.
Ensure on-time delivery.

What You'll Bring

10+ years of experience in designing and building scalable and reliable front-end and back-end services and applications.
Strong experience interfacing with Web Services platforms.
Proficient in RESTful Services, RDBMS, NoSQL.
Strong expertise in JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, CSS3, JSON, ReactJS/Redux, NodeJS, GraphQL.
Strong expertise in the development of scalable cloud-native microservices, designing and building APIs.
Proficient with event-driven architecture.
Strong expertise with Cloud Technologies like Azure and GCP.
Strong expertise in Java, Scala, Object-Oriented & Functional Programming, Design Patterns.
Extensive knowledge of open-source libraries, design patterns, and micro-service architecture.
Familiarity with CI/CD and unit testing.
Experience in production system operations (logging, telemetry, alerting, etc.).
