Join Airtable as a Software Engineer, Infrastructure
Airtable is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our backend systems to support our rapidly growing engineering organization. You will focus on building scalable, reliable, and efficient infrastructure that provides a seamless developer experience.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer in Infrastructure, you will:
- Proactively identify and lead significant improvements to Airtable’s infrastructure, working across teams and product areas to maximize business and engineering impact.
- Work on systems-level problems in a complex design space where scalability, efficiency, reliability, and security are paramount.
- Build clean, reusable, and maintainable abstractions that will be used by Airtable’s engineers for years to come.
- Take full ownership of components of Airtable’s infrastructure, including responsibility for reliability, performance, efficiency, and observability of our production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions.
- Develop and maintain scalable storage systems using technologies like RDS MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and TiDB.
- Enhance our data infrastructure with tools like Redshift, Spark, Trino, Kinesis, and Flink to support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure high performance and reliability of our analytics infrastructure.
Who You Are
- You have 2-8 years of industry experience, particularly in databases, distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, and data infrastructure.
- You derive joy from refactoring and building clean abstractions to make complex systems fun to develop on and easy to understand.
- You have a strong background in computer science with a degree in CS or a related field.
- You are currently based or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City.
Work Environment
While Airtable employs a hybrid working model, we are looking for candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area who are open to coming into the office at least 2-3 times a week for team collaboration.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $148,100 - $221,500 USD
- Benefits: Health insurance, paid vacation, restricted stock units, and incentive compensation.
