Join Our Team as a Staff Engineer

Keelvar is seeking a highly experienced Staff Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering Team. This role is remote and open to candidates based in Ireland, Germany, the UK, or Spain. As a Staff Engineer, you will report to our Chief Architect and work within a cross-functional team to build and support new and existing products and features. You will play a crucial role in setting the technical direction of our products.

Responsibilities

• Lead Design and Architecture: Design robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions for our products, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with business goals.
• Champion Best Practices: Promote best practices in software engineering, focusing on scalability, security, and reliability. Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability across the organization.
• Drive Innovation: Lead innovation through experimentation and rapid prototyping, bringing forward new ideas to improve both product and process.
• End-to-End Delivery: Own the delivery of features and services from development to production, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving service resilience.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Technical Roadmap: Influence the technical roadmap, working closely with leadership to define and prioritize long-term strategic initiatives.
• Technical Expertise: Serve as a go-to technical expert across multiple domains, helping solve the toughest technical challenges the team faces.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes and practices to meet the growing and changing demands of the product and the business.

Your Profile

• Experience: 10+ years in software engineering, with significant experience in building and delivering large-scale, high-performance distributed systems. Experience in building SaaS solutions is a strong bonus.
• Technical Direction: Proven track record of driving technical direction and delivering high-quality software at scale in a collaborative, agile environment.
• CI/CD and Automation: Advanced experience with CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and modern development practices.
• Python Expertise: Expert Python knowledge with a passion for clean, testable, and maintainable code. Familiarity with other programming languages is a plus.
• API Design: Expertise in designing distributed, fault-tolerant services using both RESTful and message-driven APIs.
• Cloud and Containerization: Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and event-driven systems.
• System Performance: Strong understanding of system performance, scalability, and reliability, with experience in performance tuning and optimizing complex distributed applications.
• Visionary Leadership: A visionary who enjoys thinking deeply about long-term technical strategy, with a track record of successfully leading and executing complex projects.
