Join Our Team as a Software Engineer II
WP Engine is seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join our dynamic engineering team. If you are passionate about technology transformations, service-oriented architectures, and working with senior engineers, this role is perfect for you. You will be instrumental in evolving our platform to meet the demands of our growing scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of passionate engineers to build the core software platform that powers WP Engine's products.
- Write, test, integrate, and debug software applications that are resilient, secure, maintainable, and perform at scale.
- Participate in code reviews to share knowledge and ensure the delivery of high-quality and secure code.
- Continuously improve WP Engine’s software platform to support millions of end users.
- Use and enhance WP Engine's continuous integration and delivery pipelines to deploy new code safely and rapidly.
- Expand and fine-tune observability services to aid engineering and support efforts.
- Automate and optimize processes wherever possible.
- Work closely with Product Management to ensure that code changes add value to our customers.
- Collaborate on technical solutions and system design across WP Engine.
- Participate in rotational on-call responsibilities.
Your Expertise
- 2+ years of experience in software development, delivering high-quality software.
- Proficient in one of the following programming languages: Go, Python, or Java.
- Experience with cloud and containerized technologies and services such as GCP, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience in developing and maintaining APIs and microservices.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities and a continuous learning mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the Go programming language (Golang).
- Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with API description languages such as OpenAPI or Protocol Buffers.
- Familiarity with GitOps, GKE, Istio, Google Cloud Anthos, kpt, kustomize, Terraform, or git/GitHub.
