About the Role
We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team in New York. This role involves working on key business initiatives, improving existing architecture and services, and designing large-scale data-intensive applications. You will be part of a team that supports a proprietary banking core capable of handling millions of transactions daily, with applications running on Google Cloud Kubernetes Engine.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end delivery of key business initiatives from product discovery to system design and feature launch.
- Learn and apply distributed system optimization patterns.
- Engage in a strong culture of code and architecture review.
- Design and deliver large-scale data-intensive applications using cutting-edge techniques in real-time transaction decisioning, stream-processing, and machine learning.
- Evolve company standards for engineering excellence by improving architecture, testing, and monitoring practices.
- Help users access new decentralized financial systems for wealth creation.
About You
- Less than one year of professional experience in software development or related roles.
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent.
- Production experience with Java or Scala.
- Experience with cloud-hosted services like AWS or GCP.
- Proficiency in both RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
- A good grasp of concurrency and multi-threading.
- Prior internship or project experience in software development is a plus.
