Job Description

As a Backend Developer at Ask Phill, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining integrations with platforms such as Shopify. Your role involves crafting efficient backend solutions and APIs using Node.js, optimizing data flow, and ensuring smooth functionality even with extensive datasets. Your expertise will play a key role in upholding system reliability, addressing performance challenges, and delivering seamless e-commerce integrations.

Collaboration will be central to your success, as you’ll work closely with frontend developers to align backend functionality with user-focused designs. Your contributions will not only enhance system architecture, but also keep the team at the forefront of tech innovation. Through brainstorming, code reviews, and the introduction of new ideas, you’ll play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement within a dynamic and forward-thinking team.

Job Requirements

• 2+ Years of backend development experience, with a strong focus on Node.js.
• Demonstrated proficiency in API development and effective data handling techniques.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and experience integrating third-party services.
• Strong communication skills with fluency in English.
• Proven ability to collaborate in team-oriented environments.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, client-focused settings.
• Genuine passion for e-commerce and a commitment to staying current with emerging technologies.

Additional Useful Experience

• Experience working with or knowledge of Shopify and its ecosystem.
• Background in a digital agency or similar project-based environment.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and workflows.
• Understanding of systems such as Product Information Management (PIMs), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERPs), and Order Management Systems (OMSs).
