About the Role
As a Backend Developer at Royal Schiphol Group, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining our website and app. Your role will involve programming and finding digital solutions for complex problems, translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and collaborating with other disciplines to achieve better results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend systems using PHP 8 and the Symfony Framework.
- Create and utilize REST APIs to enhance our digital offerings.
- Implement containerization solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Work in an agile environment alongside a Product Owner, UX researcher, data analyst, and other developers.

Our digital solutions include planning your journey from home to the airport, guiding passengers from check-in to gate, and offering unique shopping and dining experiences. We aim to reduce wait times, predict and manage passenger flows, and enhance the overall passenger experience.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary ranging from € 4744 to € 6582 gross per month.
- A 13th month salary.
- The possibility to work 4x9 hours in a 36-hour workweek.
- A remote work allowance of €3.00 net per day.
- 180 vacation hours.
About You
You are a problem solver who approaches challenges with enthusiasm and finds swift, effective solutions. You set clear goals and achieve them on time with a well-structured plan. To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Experience with PHP 8.
- Recent experience with the Symfony Framework.
- Experience in creating and using REST APIs.
- Experience with containerization (Docker / Kubernetes).
