About the Role
Join Spotify's Podcast Mission as a Web Engineer, where you'll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to building cutting-edge tools for podcast creators. Our mission is to provide an exceptional creator experience, enabling podcasters to host, create, distribute, monetize, and grow their podcasts. You'll work on both backend and frontend challenges, developing and maintaining products that help podcasters engage with their audience.
What You'll Do
- Tackle Complex Challenges: Work on both backend and frontend challenges related to our publishing platform for enterprise customers.
- Develop and Maintain: Design, develop, deploy, and maintain front-end surfaces that provide content management capabilities such as uploading, thumbnails, transcripts, polls, trailers, and other interactive features.
- Collaborate: Work closely with other engineers, product owners, designers, and web engineering teams to identify and solve complex problems.
- Learn and Grow: Adopt and learn best practices and design patterns, with opportunities to gain expertise in backend engineering and data engineering.
Who You Are
- Technical Expertise: You possess strong expertise in modern web technologies including JavaScript, React, and TypeScript, and are familiar with Java for backend services. Experience with Ruby on Rails is a plus.
- User Experience Focused: Passionate about creating end-to-end user experiences and have a keen interest in software architecture, encompassing the frontend, backend, and the APIs that connect them.
- Product-Driven: You have professional experience in a product-driven environment and are committed to delivering high-quality, well-tested code.
- Collaborative: Highly value collaboration within and across teams to achieve optimal outcomes for the organization.
- Business Impact: Prioritize business impact and understand the trade-offs between complex technical solutions and simpler approaches that cater to various stages of product development.
Where You'll Be
We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, you can be within the EST time zone as long as we have a work location.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: The United States base range for this position is $100,706 - $143,865, plus equity.
- Benefits: Health insurance, six-month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, and 13 paid flexible holidays.
