Backend Engineer (f/m/d)

Role Overview

As a Backend Engineer at Stratio, you will be instrumental in structuring server-side information, ensuring the development, maintenance, and scaling of our platform and vehicle information database. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness of our solutions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the specification of new features and improvements alongside our Product Owner.
• Implement and maintain core services with business logic, serving REST APIs implemented with .NET.
• Design and implement software architecture to support high availability and horizontal scalability.
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance.
• Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.

What We Expect

• Strong technical background with a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or similar relevant fields.
• Strong knowledge of C# and .NET.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly SQL Server.
• Knowledge of software design and architecture.
• Knowledge of software development life-cycle processes.
• Reliability and great problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Fluency in English.

Bonus Points

• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Elasticsearch).
• Experience with message brokers (e.g., Kafka).
• Experience with containerized applications (e.g., Docker, K8S).
• Experience with caching systems (e.g., REDIS).
• Experience with Clean Architecture.

Location

This role can be performed remotely in Portugal, or hybrid/office in Coimbra, Portugal.

Recruitment Process

• 1st Interview (1h) with HR and Software Team Lead.
• Take home code test reviewed by Software team members.
• Technical Interview (1h) to deep dive into the code test outputs.
• Cultural Fit Interview (1h) with Head of People and Hiring Manager.
