Job Description
As a Backend Engineer at Ford Motor Company, you will be instrumental in building a cloud-based platform to enhance Ford’s global Release & Update capability across millions of vehicles. This role requires adaptability in a rapidly changing environment and the ability to drive consistency of purpose within a complex organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical initiatives, turning concepts into functioning code efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Partner to deliver against the technical vision, strategy, and KPIs for this function, focusing on reducing the time from code to deployment.
- Develop world-class systems, including security and safety-critical systems.
- Drive data discipline and best practices throughout the organization.
- Ensure projects and roadmaps are progressed appropriately.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience developing APIs using back-end technologies such as Go or Python.
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases, database design, and SQL queries.
Preferred
- Master’s degree.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with embedded systems.
- CI experience with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of security best practices in web development.
- SaaS development experience.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined organization focused on development efficiency.

Additional Information
This position offers a range of salary grades 6-8, with compensation determined according to experience and location. Visa sponsorship is available for this position.
