Backend Engineer with Cloud and Database Experience

Job Description

As a Backend Engineer at Ford Motor Company, you will be instrumental in building a cloud-based platform to enhance Ford’s global Release & Update capability across millions of vehicles. This role requires adaptability in a rapidly changing environment and the ability to drive consistency of purpose within a complex organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical initiatives, turning concepts into functioning code efficiently.

Responsibilities

Partner to deliver against the technical vision, strategy, and KPIs for this function, focusing on reducing the time from code to deployment.
Develop world-class systems, including security and safety-critical systems.
Drive data discipline and best practices throughout the organization.
Ensure projects and roadmaps are progressed appropriately.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience developing APIs using back-end technologies such as Go or Python.
Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases, database design, and SQL queries.

Preferred

Master’s degree.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with embedded systems.
CI experience with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of security best practices in web development.
SaaS development experience.
Experience working in a multi-disciplined organization focused on development efficiency.

Additional Information

This position offers a range of salary grades 6-8, with compensation determined according to experience and location. Visa sponsorship is available for this position.
