About the Role
ABB is seeking a skilled C#/.NET Backend Developer to join our dynamic team in Ostrava, Czechia. As a part of our engineering department, you will be involved in developing software solutions that contribute to the transformation of industries towards higher productivity and sustainability. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects, including software for large maritime vessels, safety management on oil platforms, and data processing from industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services using C# and .NET.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions.
- Engage in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Utilize modern CI/CD practices for deployment, typically in MS Azure environments.
- Apply agile principles in software development.
- Work on projects involving web technologies such as Angular, Vue.js, Blazor, and MVC.
- Contribute to desktop projects primarily using WPF.
- Participate in mobile application development, AI/ML projects, data transformation, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in C# and .NET development.
- Experience with object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Knowledge of relational databases, particularly MS SQL.
- Experience with REST API interfaces.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make technical decisions.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript is a plus.
- Experience with version control systems, testing methodologies, and deployment processes.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
