About the Role
The police force is leveraging a state-of-the-art data platform to deliver real-time information and intelligence for police operations. To ensure optimal use of this platform, we are seeking a Data Engineer/Backend Developer to join the National Investigation and Interventions Unit.
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer/Backend Developer, you will be at the heart of operations, developing innovative software solutions for operational purposes, directly contributing to the evidence gathering in investigations. You will work closely with another developer to manage the workflow process.
Your tasks will include:
- Data Workflow Management: Ensuring data is in the correct format and location while maintaining integrity, coordinating with relevant parties like the Data Warehouse.
- Software Solutions: Developing automated solutions for workflow processes in collaboration with a DevOps engineer.
- Data Extraction and Decryption: Decompiling apps, extracting, and possibly decrypting relevant data, always seeking new data sources.
Work Environment
You will be part of the Digital Investigation Team (TDO) within the National Investigation and Interventions Unit, based in Driebergen. The team provides specialist knowledge and second-line support to investigation teams, focusing on undermining, terrorism, and serious organized crime. The team is part of the Specialist Investigation Department, which includes Observation & Technology, Forensic Investigation, and more.
Who You Are
You are passionate about data and technology, with a strong investigative nature. You are resilient, a team player, and can work independently within your field. You have a higher professional education level (HBO) in a technical specialization like computer science, experience with multiple programming languages, and a strong command of both Dutch and English.
What We Offer
- Location: Driebergen
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Salary: €3,484 to €6,176 per month (scale 10 or 11 Bbp)
- Benefits: 8% holiday allowance, 8.33% year-end bonus, good pension scheme, and paid parental leave.
