About the Role
Join our multidisciplinary scrum team as a Senior Backend Engineer at NOS, where you will collaborate with top engineers to maintain and enhance the backend of the #1 news app in the Netherlands. You will be part of the platform team, responsible for ensuring the continuity and high availability of our platform. Your contributions will help in developing and maintaining our backend applications and APIs.
Currently, we are transitioning parts of our platform to Rust to ensure high availability and the ability to handle large volumes of users simultaneously. In a fast-paced news organization like NOS, speed is crucial, and your work will ensure that our users have quick access to the latest news without any delays or interruptions. The platform must always be available as news never stops, and you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and continuity of our services.

What We Offer
- A competitive salary range of €3,651 to €5,742 per month for a 36-hour week, according to scale H of our collective labor agreement, depending on your experience.
- Additional benefits include 8% holiday pay, a 6% year-end bonus, and annual salary growth.
- A one-year contract for 32-36 hours per week, with the intention to extend to an indefinite period if mutually satisfactory.
