Join Veriff as a Data Scientist - Fraud Prevention
About the Role
Veriff is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our Fraud Engineering team. This role focuses on fraud detection and prevention, playing a key part in advancing our fraud prevention strategies. You will help identify and stop fraudsters while adapting to changing fraud trends. Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other data professionals to make a real impact.
Responsibilities
- Improve and Maintain Models: Enhance statistical and machine learning models for fraud detection, adapting to evolving fraud trends and business needs.
- Develop New Models: Create new statistical and machine learning models to identify and prevent fraudulent activities.
- Conduct In-depth Analysis: Analyze fraud patterns and trends to inform model development and business strategies.
- Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Work with different teams to productionize, deploy, and monitor models in production environments.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning and fraud detection techniques.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years as a Data Scientist.
- Programming Skills: Proficient in Python and SQL.
- Data Manipulation: Expertise in tools like Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib/Seaborn.
- Machine Learning: Solid knowledge of frameworks such as scikit-learn or XGBoost.
- Communication: Ability to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fraud Prevention Experience: Prior experience in fraud prevention is a plus.
- Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with deploying machine learning models and working with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
