About the Role
Volta Labs is seeking a highly motivated Electrical and Embedded Systems Lead to join our innovative team in Boston, MA. This role is pivotal in owning the electrical subsystem and firmware development for our first commercial product. You will lead a team of electrical, firmware, and test engineers through the design, development, and production phases, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet stringent safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Own the electrical subsystem requirements, including printed circuit boards and cable assemblies.
- Translate these requirements into robust electrical and firmware designs.
- Lead the team from design through to production manufacturing and launch.
- Develop verification tests and collaborate with software and mechanical engineers.
- Ensure product safety and compliance with CE and NRTL certifications.
- Develop in-unit testing for manufacturing and post-launch activities.
- Mentor and lead your team to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- 6-8 years of experience in developing, testing, and releasing complex electromechanical systems.
- Proven leadership in multi-disciplinary teams and projects.
- Strong technical proficiency in electrical and embedded systems engineering.
- Experience with electrical CAD design tools, preferably Altium.
- Comfortable with Linux systems and scripting with Python; familiarity with low-level embedded firmware (C++ preferred).
