Frontend Software Engineer - DesignOps

Job Overview

As a Software Engineer on the DesignOps Team at Datadog, you will play a crucial role in the development and operations of our Design System, Druids. You will work alongside a team of frontend engineers and designers to enhance the delivery and maintenance of our components and assets. Your efforts will also focus on improving the usability of the Design System by iteratively refining our documentation and guidelines. This role is pivotal in enabling the Datadog product suite to expand rapidly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and Maintain Druids: Develop and maintain Datadog’s design system to ensure it remains state-of-the-art.
• Work with Modern Technologies: Utilize TypeScript, React, and LESS to enhance our design system.
• Improve Documentation: Enhance our documentation platform to ensure easy understanding and increased adoption of the Design System.
• Ensure Accessibility: Ensure that our experiences adhere to accessibility standards and other relevant practices.
• Collaborate with a Tightly Knit Team: Join a team that is dedicated to solving complex problems the right way.

Who You Are

• Frontend Specialist: You are proficient in JavaScript and have a strong focus on frontend development.
• Detail-Oriented: You have a keen eye for detail and a focus on pixel-perfect design.
• Effective Communicator: You understand the importance of good communication between designers and engineers and can discuss your work with a non-technical audience.
• Product-Focused: You have a strong product sense and keep the ultimate customer goal in mind.
• Design System Experience: (Bonus) You have owned or significantly contributed to a Design System.
