About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer - Frontend at Datadog, you will be tasked with building an intuitive, responsive product that aids thousands of customers in monitoring the health and performance of their systems. Your role involves using advanced tools like React and TypeScript to streamline data flow from platform to user, enabling seamless transitions and building a powerful yet user-friendly platform.
You will tackle complex frontend challenges for a vast user base, dealing with large datasets and addressing scalability and performance issues. Our users are developers, giving you a unique closeness to the product and a significant impact on the development community.

What You’ll Do
- Work closely with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to refine and validate design concepts.
- Break down complex features into manageable tasks and create detailed rollout plans.
- Design and deliver impactful features to thousands of users.
- Experiment with new systems, design patterns, and tools.
- Participate in hackathons and engage with other frontend engineers in monthly demos and annual summits.
- Contribute to and utilize our in-house design system to create simple, reusable components for complex UIs.
- Own significant parts of our service, focusing on performance and scalability.
Who You Are
- Experienced in designing and engineering user interfaces.
- Proficient with the JavaScript ecosystem and up-to-date with frontend technologies.
- Skilled in using design patterns to create streamlined, reusable components for complex UIs.
- Knowledgeable about data structures, algorithms, profiling, and optimization.
- Passionate about code simplicity and performance.
