Join Datadog as a Senior Software Engineer - Datastores
Datadog is on a mission to build the best platform for engineers to deliver stateful services at high scale. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Datastores team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure needed to support a growing number of customers while minimizing issues and controlling costs.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and Build Infrastructure: Develop and maintain the infrastructure to support a growing customer base, ensuring scalability and cost-efficiency.
- Investigate and Resolve Issues: Identify and fix issues or bottlenecks in the platform code or client applications.
- Support Services and Datastores: Provide 24x7 support for the services and datastores owned by the team.
- Automate Infrastructure: Build tooling and automation to manage infrastructure with minimal human intervention.
- Collaborate with Developers: Work with developers to design data models and advise on datastore options.
Who You Are:
- Educational Background: You have a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or at least 5 years of professional experience.
- Experience with Distributed Systems: You have production experience with distributed systems such as Zookeeper, Cassandra, Postgres, FoundationDB, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis, or MongoDB.
- Programming Skills: You are proficient in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Go, Java, Rust, C/C++.
- Startup Environment: You thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment that values engineers and customers.
- Architectural Design: You can design simple and performant architectures to solve problems at high scale.
- Bonus: Experience with major cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
