IT User Experience Co-op at Boston Consulting Group
Overview
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is seeking a motivated and talented IT User Experience Co-op to join our Global IT UX Center of Expertise (CoE). This position is ideal for students interested in pursuing a career in UX design or research. As a co-op, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for enhancing BCG’s internal products and service offerings. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow as a UX generalist, gaining experience in both design and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analyze user needs and sentiment. Design and test prototypes and concepts to contribute to cross-product UX and service frameworks.
- Iterative Design: Apply iterative design methods and processes, including Lean UX and Design Thinking approaches, to test hypotheses, concepts, and prototypes with users.
- UX Research: Execute various research methods such as user interviews, contextual inquiry, ethnographic study, and usability testing to understand user needs.
- Data Analysis: Analyze UX research data to create meaningful insights that address user needs, behaviors, expectations, and pain points.
- UX Outputs: Create user journey maps, service maps, wireframes, prototypes, and user requirements to define end-to-end UX.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with stakeholders across teams, disciplines, and regions to ensure diverse perspectives in problem-solving.
- Presentation: Present work and defend decisions clearly, both verbally and visually.

Qualifications
- Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled at Northeastern University and approved for the January to June 2025 co-op cycle.
- Experience applying UX principles and methodologies from user-centered design and design thinking processes.
- Ability to present information logically and clearly, both verbally and visually.
- Preference for rising juniors or seniors working towards a Bachelor’s Degree or concentration in Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or related fields.
- Must meet all co-op eligibility requirements and be authorized to work in the United States full-time throughout the co-op cycle.
