Genies is a leading avatar technology company, empowering developers, artists, and creators to build gamified avatar experiences. We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to join our Developer Platform Team in San Mateo, CA. This role is pivotal in driving the development and growth of our backend services, which are crucial for powering our developer platform and tools, core mobile experiences, and AI infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend services for mobile and web applications.
- Ensure the reliability and scalability of our services.
- Experiment with cutting-edge technologies and solutions across data storage, APIs, user experiences, and games.
- Build and operate a high-quality infrastructure and service ecosystem.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to plan the company's long-term technology roadmap.
- Lead efforts to scale our infrastructure to meet growing demands.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of professional experience.
- Proficiency in languages like Golang, Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, API development, and distributed databases.
- Familiarity with AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and creative skills.
