Job Overview
ZapCom Group Inc is seeking a highly skilled Lead Node.js Developer to join our dynamic engineering team in Irving, Texas. As a Lead Node.js Developer, you will be responsible for building robust REST-based microservices using Node.js, Express, and TypeScript. You will play a crucial role in shaping the backend architecture and integrating various backend loyalty APIs with proper error management and throttling.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable microservices using Node.js, Express, and TypeScript.
- Shape the backend architecture to enhance the way people use loyalty systems.
- Build frameworks to integrate with various backend loyalty APIs, ensuring proper error management and throttling.
- Use TypeScript as a first-class citizen in application development.
- Integrate APIs with API Gateway, including authentication and authorization.
- Work with both SQL and NoSQL datastores for data management.
- Manage technical aspects such as performance, scalability, and accessibility.
- Provide self-explanatory Swagger documentation to frontend developers.
- Address and resolve bugs post-release in a timely manner.
- Strategize and prioritize feature development.
- Ensure code coverage of 85% through unit tests.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least eight years of experience with Node.js, Express, or comparable frameworks.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Strong understanding of Node.js event loop and application model.
- Experience with Webpack and Babel.js.
- Familiarity with AWS deployment models and integrating microservices with API Gateway.
- Ability to develop functional components and web hooks.
- Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of UI frameworks such as React is appreciated.

- Experience with Atlas JavaScript framework.
- Experience in the airline industry.
- Experience with non-SQL databases such as MongoDB, Mongoose, and DynamoDB.
- Experience using various AWS resources such as Lambda and RDS.
