Overview
Join Tripadvisor, the world's largest travel guidance platform, as a Lead Software Engineer specializing in AWS. This role is pivotal in leading the design and development of our modernization efforts, particularly for the Trust & Safety platform. You will be at the forefront of a strategic initiative that aims to enhance our system's scalability and address both current and future business needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of the new Trust & Safety platform in AWS.
- Utilize your expertise in business rule processing systems to develop a scalable decision engine.
- Ensure operational health of the platform with appropriate alerting and monitoring.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements and make engineering and product trade-offs.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of innovation and ownership.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in large scale, full life-cycle development.
- Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, OO, API, and cache design.
- Experience with Java, JavaScript/React, AWS, Tomcat, Linux, PostgreSQL (RDS/Aurora), DynamoDB, and Snowflake.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in a tech lead capacity.
