Join Tripadvisor as a Senior Software Engineer
Tripadvisor, the world's largest travel guidance platform, is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Cruise Critic Engineering team. This role is based in Lisbon, Portugal, and offers a hybrid work environment.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in building, upgrading, and maintaining cruisecritic.com and its supporting suite of tools and processes. You will work across our diverse technology stack, which includes cutting-edge technologies such as Typescript, React, Next.js, and GraphQL. You will be responsible for all aspects of software engineering, from design and implementation to QA/CI and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Code Development: Release code to production frequently, with an as-needed release cycle to meet fast-paced goals.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of the code produced by you and the team.
- Technology Stack: Operate across our evolving technology stack, including Typescript, React, Next.js, and GraphQL.
- Software Engineering: Take responsibility for all aspects of software engineering, including design, implementation, QA/CI, and maintenance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product, design teams, and other business stakeholders to define feature specifications and develop high-quality deliverables for our customers.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: At least 4 years of experience developing with JavaScript and React.
- Technical Skills: Solid knowledge in Next.js, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and database management with MySQL or similar relational databases.
- Version Control: Proficiency in version control with Git.
- SEO: Understanding of SEO best practices.
- Responsive Design: Experience in responsive web design, browser compatibility, and multi-device support.
- Bonus Skills: Experience with frontend design systems, app routers, Tailwinds, and PHP is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Self-taught, proactive, and strong communication skills.
