About the Role
Tripadvisor is seeking a motivated and talented Software Engineer I to join our Ads & Marketing Engineering team. As a Software Engineer I, you will be involved in developing features across all layers of the stack, supporting our suite of products that serve advertisers and enable them to market their business on the Tripadvisor site. This role is perfect for a self-starting and results-driven engineer who enjoys working with a variety of technologies and is eager to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop features in support of our products across all layers of the stack under the guidance of more senior engineers.
- Design relational databases, microservices, APIs, and interactive user interfaces.
- Test the software you write and maintain your features once released.
- Ensure that team standards and best practices are adhered to.
- Actively seek feedback from peers and promote a collaborative and fast-paced engineering culture.
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of web front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, React) and/or backend technologies (Java).
- Ability to query relational databases.
- Strong competencies in data structures and algorithms.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Strong analytical skills and a desire to write clean, correct, and efficient code.
- High-quality verbal and written communication skills.
- A sense of ownership, urgency, and pride in your work.
