About the Role
At Albert Heijn, we are looking for an Oracle Cloud Engineer to join our team at the headquarters in Zaandam. This role is not just a job; it's an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our customers by leveraging data and technology to enhance our food retail services.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation and Infrastructure Management: Drive automation of Oracle Cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration management. Implement self-service, Infrastructure-as-Code services, and Auto Scale initiatives.
- Security and Compliance: Implement security baselines and standards for resources, including network access and restriction of internet-facing resources within the Azure and Oracle Cloud environment.
- Collaboration and Support: Work with application teams to support their digital transformation goals and create observability strategies with a focus on self-healing mechanisms.
- DevOps Practices: Define and develop architectural standards that promote DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
Your Team
You will be part of the DDP Data Management services team, focusing on using the latest cloud technologies to architect, scale, and monitor our services and products. You will collaborate with data engineering, product, and design teams to ensure seamless releases and deployments.

Ideal Candidate
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with Oracle database administration, Oracle Cloud, and additional database technologies like Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL.
- Automation Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Ansible, Shell, Python, or PowerShell.
- Security Knowledge: Experience with Oracle Cloud security tools and Azure security tools.
- Communication: Outstanding communication skills in English.
Location
This position is based in Zaandam, North Holland, Netherlands. Our office is conveniently located next to the train station, making it easily accessible.
