Albert Heijn is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Supply Chain Execution team. This role is pivotal in transforming our traditional tech into a modern, cutting-edge technology landscape using Microservices, Kotlin/Java, Kafka, React, and MongoDB. You will be responsible for the delivery of goods from our distribution centers to stores, ensuring high-quality standards in both development and operation of mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-on Value Delivery
- Align team delivery with Tech Radar, OKRs, and Engineering Excellence Principles.
- Be accountable as a code owner and responsible for the team's technical performance.
- Enable team members to build and run applications autonomously, spending part of your time coding.
- Collaborate with architects to roadmap design and build an engineering team that welcomes technical discussions.
Leadership and People Management
- Organize teams to be fully empowered and autonomous.
- Instill an engineering culture and guide team members to uphold high code quality standards.
- Facilitate the growth, mentorship, and learning of DevOps engineers.
Vision, Strategy, and Alignment
- Align the team to the mission and vision of the Tech department.
- Balance technical and product roadmap goals and priorities.
- Work with different departments and stakeholders to achieve objectives.

Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with DevOps methodology, cloud engineering, observability, and security.
- Proficient in Kotlin/Java, React, PL/SQL, and familiar with Kubernetes, Kafka, MongoDB, OracleDB, and Webmethods.
- Good understanding of Microservices Architecture.
- 3+ years of experience leading multiple teams with excellent communication skills in English.
- Experience in large-scale complex projects, preferably in a large enterprise environment.
- Agile mentality with a focus on delivering value at every iteration.
Location
This position is based in Zaandam, North Holland, Netherlands, with a hybrid work model allowing for both on-site and remote work.
