About the Role
As a Data Platform Engineer, you will work on our data platform named Thor and User Access Management solution. Our goal is to build a self-service data platform that empowers other data engineers to develop independently, while we focus on improving and optimizing our pipelines and codebase.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance our data platform to improve data processing and quality.
- Provide a scalable and easily understood data architecture.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplined team to build a platform that enables data engineers to create valuable business solutions.
- Implement and scale methodologies in collaboration with the business.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of adjacent application and market developments for inspiration and benchmarking.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Databricks: Data Engineer Associate Certification or equivalent expertise.
- Terraform: Associate Certification level.
- Kafka: Proficiency in optimizations.
- Python/PySpark: Ability to build performant, simple, and clearly structured Python packages for production.
- Azure: In-depth knowledge of data engineer modules such as Eventhub, Storage, Log analytics, Data explorer, Event Grid System, and DevOps.
- Lean Software Development: Experience in automating infrastructure and processes.
- Version Control: Mastery in Git.
Desirable Skills
- Databricks Unity catalog.
- Building RESTful APIs.
- Further certifications in Databricks and Python.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial experience in large-scale data platform teams.
- Hands-on software engineering experience, including data ingestion patterns.
- Experience with agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills.
