As a software engineer, you will be instrumental in supporting our DevOps teams with a seamless platform, making a significant impact.

Your Role

As a software engineer, you will ensure a frictionless Azure platform. You will be part of the Cloud Platform Team, which provides the Azure foundation, central platform functionalities such as a delegated network and rights structure, application/platform landing zones, Azure Policy, API Management, and more. DevOps teams primarily build on this platform using Azure SaaS services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain platform services and features to ensure DNB remains one of the most progressive financial institutions globally.
• Produce innovative and clear designs with trade-offs centered around the consumer.
• Write clear, efficient, and testable code.
• Coach fellow software engineers using proven design standards and patterns.
• Continuously seek improvements on the platform by collaborating with the organization.
• Drive architectural improvements to reduce operational load on services and the team.
• Enhance the availability, reliability, scalability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products.

Your Team

You will work within the Data & IT division in the Operations department, which consists of approximately 100 employees across various teams, including the DevOps Platform Team and Cloud Expertise Team. You will join the Cloud Platform Team, working with 10 direct developers focusing on the further development of scalable and secure IT solutions.

Work Environment

At DNB, we work in a hybrid model. Our office in Amsterdam is our home base, where we meet, share knowledge, and collaborate. At the same time, there is ample room to choose a workplace and time where we can best perform our work and add as much value as possible. We ensure you can work excellently from home with a laptop, phone, and a well-equipped home office setup.

Qualifications

• A completed Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience in software engineering, with experience in C# required. Additionally, experience with at least one of the following programming or configuration languages: PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, or similar experience.
• 3+ years of experience in designing, building, and delivering software services in Azure or a similar public cloud.
• Demonstrable problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, balancing both short- and long-term needs.
• Microsoft Certification: AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Expert).

Preferred Qualifications

• A completed Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with experience in C# required. Additionally, experience with at least one of the following programming or configuration languages: PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep. OR a completed ICT-oriented Master's degree, or technical Bachelor's degree, with 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with experience in C# required. Additionally, experience with at least one of the following programming or configuration languages: PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, or similar experience.
• Ability to perform in an agile environment.
• Strong collaboration skills with different teams.
• Willingness to learn and embrace new technologies and trends and convey that to the team.
• Experience in building scalable services within Azure or other cloud providers.
• Experience with applying products related to Azure network security or similar products from other cloud providers.
• Thorough knowledge of network concepts and technologies, such as DNS, VPN, and firewalls.
• Microsoft Certification: AZ-400 (Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) and AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Expert).
