Payments Analytics Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking a Payments Analytics Specialist to join our innovative team at StellarTech. This role is pivotal in analyzing and optimizing the performance of our payment systems. You will ensure seamless transaction passability, reduce failures and declines, manage chargebacks, and conduct hypothesis testing within payment systems. If you have hands-on experience with payment platforms like Stripe or Braintree and are adept at uncovering optimization opportunities, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Payment Systems Passability & Performance: Monitor and analyze payment system performance to ensure high pass-through rates and identify areas for improvement.
- Routing/Cascading Analysis: Optimize payment routing strategies to enhance efficiency and success rates.
- Failures/Decline Analysis: Investigate transaction failures and declines to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Chargeback Management: Analyze chargeback data to identify trends, reduce occurrences, and improve dispute resolution.
- Hypothesis Testing (A/B Testing in Payment Systems): Design and execute experiments to test payment process improvements.
- Commission/Fees Analysis: Evaluate and optimize commission structures and fees associated with different payment providers.
- Optimization Strategies: Leverage expertise in payment systems to identify and implement additional optimization opportunities.
- Reporting and Insights: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in payments analytics or payment operations.
- Proficient with payment platforms such as Stripe, Braintree, and others.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for advanced data analysis.
- Experience with A/B testing methodologies and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with additional payment gateways and international payment methods.
- Familiarity with fraud detection and prevention strategies.
- Certifications in payment systems or data analytics.
- Experience with machine learning models applied to payment optimization.
