Overview

Nightwing, a newly independent company previously part of a leading Fortune 100 company, is seeking a Senior Applications Developer to join our team in Sterling, Virginia. As a Senior Applications Developer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the U.S. government in the Herndon, Virginia area by developing, testing, and maintaining software applications that are integral to our cybersecurity, intelligence, and services offerings.

Responsibilities

• Develop, code, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software.
• Perform maintenance on existing software products and contribute knowledge of business applications.
• Write programs according to specifications and work with technical staff to resolve software issues.
• Resolve customer complaints and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
• Develop block diagrams and logic flow charts.
• Provide technical direction to programmers to ensure program deadlines are met.
• Manage software version control baseline documentation.
• Develop project schedules and timelines.
• Coordinate with Customer’s security elements for Project Certification and Accreditation.
• Author documents (reports, briefings, etc.) to support customer missions.
• Communicate with staff or clients to understand specific systems requirements.
• Provide advice on project costs, design concepts, or design changes.
• Train system users in system operation or maintenance.
• Research, test, and verify proper functioning of software patches and fixes.

• Ability to effectively manage several projects simultaneously in a rapidly paced environment.
• Excellent understanding of communications/email protocol API implementation.
• Working knowledge of Customer’s organization, internal policies, and processes.
• Excellent knowledge of Customer’s software development cycle and O&M processes.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with C2S, Java & Spring, Node JS, Vue, REST Web Services, SQL, Linux & BASH.

Desired Skills

• Working knowledge of Customers official messaging system.
• Ability to design/deliver customer web-based email client and server applications.
• Ability to implement business process and workflow into custom email applications.
• Knowledge of PKI key and LDAP implementation.
• Ability to interface web application with remote relational database infrastructure.

Additional Requirements

• 9+ years of experience in software development.
• BS in Computer Science or related field (equivalent experience may be substituted).
• Must have TS/SCI security clearance with Poly on day one and be eligible for crossover.
• Potential for up to 10% OCONUS and CONUS travel, as required.

Salary

The salary range for this role is €105,000 - €221,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
