Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java/AWS Developer to join our team supporting a Randstad client in Washington, DC. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design, development, and implementation of complex IT solutions for passenger rail transportation systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and AWS, along with a solid understanding of agile methodologies, test-driven development, and CI/CD processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-native applications that are high-performing, scalable, and secure.
Responsibilities
- Participate in client discussions to analyze business requirements and priorities.
- Perform analysis, design, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale IT solutions.
- Architect and design IT solutions that meet both functional and technical requirements.
- Develop, test, and implement critical business applications with a focus on high availability and performance.
- Develop cloud-native services using AWS technologies (EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, etc.).
- Provide production support, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application issues.
- Work with the product team to create and execute test plans using Test-Driven Development (JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock).
- Maintain technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support CI/CD processes using tools like Git, Maven, Gradle, and BitBucket.
- Collaborate in an agile delivery environment, adhering to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Ensure application security by addressing vulnerabilities and implementing best practices.
Qualifications
- Experience level: Experienced
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree
Skills
- Proficiency in Java and AWS
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes
- Understanding of agile methodologies
- Experience with test-driven development
- Knowledge of JUnit, Mockito, and PowerMock
- Experience with Bitbucket
- Ability to develop cloud-native applications
- Understanding of high availability and performance
- Ability to maintain technical documentation

Pay offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. In addition, Randstad Digital offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, an incentive and recognition program, and 401K contribution (all benefits are based on eligibility).
