Role Overview
As a Senior Back-end Engineer for Proton Pass, you will join a team focused on the backend aspects of Proton Pass and SimpleLogin. You will collaborate with front-end teams and other back-end engineers to develop scalable solutions and ensure the backend meets critical business and reliability requirements.
Responsibilities
- Code in our shared backend framework
- Collaborate with client application developers
- Document back-end capabilities for proper implementation
- Improve systems for file revision cleanup and quota management
Requirements
- Strong experience in backend development
- Proficiency in OOP and SOLID principles
- Experience with SQL and data modeling
- Knowledge of unit and functional testing
- Understanding of security best practices
- Familiarity with HTTP/REST and web-based APIs
Bonus Points
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD, backend web frameworks, modern PHP, Rust, Python
- Understanding of cryptography, DDD, and enterprise patterns
- Experience with Redis, OpenAPI specs, or other API documentation frameworks
