As a Senior Front-End Engineer on the Inbox team, you will play a crucial role in developing Proton's most vital services, including Mail and Calendar. We expect you to be customer-centric, continuously learning, and passionate about technology and usability. You will be adept at turning technical complexities into seamless user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Deploy: Create high-quality user experiences within our product portfolio, including feature development and implementation.
• Technical Leadership: Transform product specifications into technical requirements and lead your team to their successful implementation.
• Enhance Development Lifecycle: Improve Proton's software development lifecycle, tools, and code structure for an improved developer experience.
• Code Quality: Write clear, concise, and testable code to maintain and elevate the quality of our codebase.
• Project Management: Manage the scoping, planning, and execution of new features, technical initiatives, and greenfield projects.
• Mentorship: Foster a culture of learning, creativity, and accountability through mentorship and team development.

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive experience in professional software development using JavaScript ES6+ or TypeScript.
• Experience with React or 2+ similar frameworks, developing performant and reusable components.
• Familiarity with best practices for ensuring code quality, including CI/CD.
• Ability to make architectural decisions and contribute to strategic planning and product direction.
• Experience working in a distributed team.

Current Projects

The team has recently launched Proton Scribe, an AI writing assistant integrated into Proton Mail. We are now working on bringing this feature to all users and supporting more languages, among many other projects.

Future Plans

As a team, we need to continue improving the quality and performance of both Mail and Calendar. There is an increasing demand from our B2B customers, which brings many new interesting use cases and features to the top of our roadmap.
