Role Overview

As a Senior Back-End Engineer at Preply, you will be part of a cross-functional Growth team. You will work alongside other engineers, a Product Manager, a Tech Lead, Data Analytics, and an Engineering Manager to enhance the user experience on our platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Features and A/B Tests: Focus on improving the first user experience, from matching with a tutor to the first lesson.
• Support Product Ideation: Collaborate with the product team in ideation, hypothesis validation, and experimentation.
• System Quality Improvement: Enhance observability and quality of our systems.
• Best Practices: Contribute to improving our test culture, code reviews, and scalability.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Researchers, and Data leaders to ensure optimal user experience.

What You Need to Succeed

• Collaboration Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical Expertise: Senior-level experience with Python/Django and familiarity with React or other frontend languages.
• Data Orientation: Ability to work with production data and data analysts to derive insights.
• Problem Solving: Ability to solve complex problems with a high degree of uncertainty.
• Leadership: Bring your voice and ideas to the team, thinking beyond code.
• On-Call Willingness: Be prepared to be on-call for your squad (1 week every 5 weeks).
