Job Description - Senior Backend Developer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly secure, fault-tolerant APIs and core backend services in Python.
• Create our next-generation developer framework and workflows, allowing both merchants and third-parties to integrate seamlessly.
• Collaborate closely with infrastructure and frontend teams.
• Take ownership of key technology decisions, building for scale and optimizing for output.
• Conduct code reviews and continuously improve our ways of working.
• Develop deep payments expertise, always looking for ways to optimize our merchant developer experience.
• Create detailed internal documentation for the projects you work on.

Requirements

• Experience building high-performance, complex distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python is essential.
• Experience with modern development practices such as BDD and TDD is highly beneficial.
• Passion for beautiful, well-tested code.
• In-depth understanding of the entire development process (design, development, and deployment).
• Highly motivated self-starter who values autonomy and getting things done.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote and can be based anywhere in Hungary, Romania, or Estonia. Our engineering teams work fully remotely across Europe and operate within local time zones. If you are not based in the listed countries but are interested in applying, please let us know in your application.
