What You Will Do

You will use technologies and tools such as AWS (Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, etc.), JavaScript/TypeScript (Next.js, tRPC, React, Node.js, and more), and A.I. (GPT). Besides directly contributing to the codebase, your responsibility is to coach more junior colleagues to become better software engineers, help us develop general best practices, and foster a true engineering culture. Your main responsibilities include:

• Building software with the best possible user experience, while following an API-first approach.
• Implementing modern best practices for software development, such as automated building, testing, and deployment through CI/CD.
• Collaborating closely with your team members by doing pair and mob programming.
• Coaching juniors to become better software engineers and further develop their strengths.
• Talking to other teams and users to explore their needs and produce feasible solutions.
• Advocating a DevOps mindset and helping us to create a true engineering culture.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in software development.
• Frontend development: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and knowledge of any modern frontend framework (Preferably React or Vue).
• Backend development: experience with any modern backend tech stack (Preferably Node.js).
• Experience building applications using AWS (e.g., API Gateway, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, etc.).
• A passion for automation and implementing recurring tasks, testing, and security in CI/CD systems.
• Experience building applications using Serverless is a big plus.
• Experience with tools and frameworks like Next.js, tRPC, Zod is a big plus.
• Experience with Camunda, Docker, or Kubernetes is a plus.

Who You Will Work With

You will join a partially remote empowered product team in the IT department of Schade Intermediair. In this department, we create B2B insurance products for intermediaries and direct customers. Our focus is to create an amazing user experience, expand our product offering, and improve operational efficiency.
