About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer at ScorePlay, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure for our innovative sports media platform. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Engineering and collaborate with a dynamic team to build scalable and performant backend systems.
Responsibilities
- Backend Development: Design and develop backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines using Go and other relevant technologies.
- Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and indexing strategies for efficient data storage and retrieval using PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Cloud Computing: Deploy and manage backend infrastructure on AWS, optimizing resources for scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Integration and Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless user experience across ScorePlay's product portfolio.
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, sharing knowledge and enforcing best practices within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong skills in software design and architecture.
- Proven experience with Go, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and database management systems like PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
