Vio.com is seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our Content team. Our mission is to provide users with the most helpful, high-quality, and unique hotel content to help them find the best deals. We process large amounts of data daily and integrate with numerous suppliers, making our content and mapping products a core part of our platform.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with a team to solve challenging problems and build products that help travelers find the best deals.
- Identify bottlenecks and opportunities for performance, reliability, and code quality improvements.
- Write design documents and participate in architecture meetings to future-proof our applications.
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers.
- Improve our infrastructure to support growth in a cost-effective way.
- Report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Who You Are
- You have at least 5 years of experience in backend development.
- Proficient in at least two programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, Scala, or Ruby. Experience with Golang or Python is a plus.
- Experienced in designing, developing, and shipping highly scalable software.
- Familiar with data products and setting up data pipelines. Experience with Spark is a plus.
- Knowledgeable in distributed systems, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD tools.
- You write tests as part of your coding routine and are familiar with Agile methodologies.
- You treat documentation as a first-class citizen.
