About the Role
Vio.com is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Content team. This role is pivotal in helping us deliver high-quality, unique hotel content to our users, ensuring they find the best deals available. You will work with a modern tech stack, including Go, Python, AWS, DBT, Snowflake, Spark, and Terraform, processing large amounts of data daily and integrating with numerous suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team to solve complex problems and build products that provide travelers with the best market deals.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement in reliability and code quality.
- Write design documents and participate in architecture meetings to future-proof applications.
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Enhance our infrastructure to support growth in a cost-effective manner.
- Report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Who You Are
- You have at least 5 years of experience in backend development.
- Proficient in at least two programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, Scala, or Ruby, with a preference for Golang or Python.
- Experienced in designing, developing, and deploying highly scalable software.
- Familiar with data products and setting up data pipelines; experience with Spark is a plus.
- Knowledgeable in distributed systems and AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD tools.
- You write tests as part of your coding routine and are familiar with Agile methodologies.
- You value documentation as a first-class citizen.
