About the Role
Vio.com is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Content team. Our mission is to provide travelers with the best accommodation deals worldwide. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our platform, which processes large amounts of data daily and integrates with numerous suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team to solve complex problems and build products that deliver the best deals to travelers.
- Identify and address bottlenecks and opportunities for performance, reliability, and code quality improvements.
- Write design documents and participate in architecture meetings to future-proof applications.
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Enhance our infrastructure to support growth in a cost-effective manner.
- Report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in backend development.
- Proficiency in Golang or Python.
- Experience with data products and setting up data pipelines; Spark experience is a plus.
- Proven track record in designing, developing, and deploying highly scalable software.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD tools.
- Commitment to writing tests as part of the development process.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and a strong emphasis on documentation.
