Join Agoda as a Senior Software Engineer – Back End (FinTech) based in Bangkok. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in one of the fastest-growing areas within Agoda, focusing on financial technology solutions. You will be responsible for developing robust backend systems and architecting scalable data pipelines that support complex data collection, processing, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Product Lifecycle Ownership: Engage in all stages of the product lifecycle, from gathering business requirements to technology selection, coding standards, agile development, testing, and continuous integration/delivery.
- Platform Development: Design, develop, and maintain platforms and data pipelines across fintech.
- System Performance: Build stable, scalable, and high-performance systems to meet the dynamic demands of the financial landscape.
- Mentorship: Write great code and mentor team members to do the same.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with diverse teams to drive product and technology goals.
- Recruitment: Play a pivotal role in recruiting and onboarding exceptional talent.
Required Skills and Experience
- Programming Languages: 5+ years of experience with strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#.
- Big Data Technologies: Experience with Hadoop, real-time processing frameworks like Apache Spark, and advanced SQL and data architecture knowledge.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
- Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of metrics, alarms, and dashboards.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a modern FinTech or Payments organization.
- Domain knowledge in financial reconciliation, reporting, tax, or payout methods.
- Hands-on experience with Spark, ETLs, and queueing systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with core engineering infrastructure tools like GitLab and Kubernetes.
- Proven track record in leading projects or teams.
