About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering department in Porto. As a key member of our enablement team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, building, shipping, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable object-oriented PHP8 code. You will enhance tools to automate processes and improve our development environment, ensuring the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of our applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, test, build, ship, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable PHP8 code.
- Provide and enhance tools to automate processes and improve the development environment.
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
- Maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
- Work in an international, cross-functional environment, communicating in English.
Required Skills
- Strong object-oriented PHP skills with experience in MVC frameworks, particularly Symfony.
- Experience in designing, building, testing, and shipping web applications.
- Proficiency in automated testing, clean code, and code coverage.
- Exceptional experience with design and architectural patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Experience with MySQL and Linux administration.
- Great English communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Elasticsearch/SOLR/Lucene.
- DevOps mentality and result-oriented approach.
